School Trips
School Trip Information: 3rd July 2024
Wednesday 3rd July 2024
Students will not be attending their normal timetabled lessons as a range of activities have been planned by staff to ensure a fun day for all.
Students will need to arrive at school punctually at the usual time.
Students are not expected to wear school uniform, however it is important that your child is dressed appropriately. Please ensure that all clothes are suitable, for example shorts and skirts are a suitable length. Students will also need to wear appropriate shoes or trainers as there will be a range of activities including physical activities throughout the day.
Short, hot pants style shorts and crop tops that do not cover the chest or midriff are not appropriate and should not be worn.
The school canteen will be open as usual before school, at break and lunch although there will be a more limited offering than usual. Free school meals will be available for students who already receive them. Students are welcome to bring a packed lunch and snacks with them during the day. As it is most likely going to be warm, students will need to bring water as it is really crucial that they stay hydrated during the day. Also, sun protection may be required.
School will finish at the normal time so students can make their way home as they would usually do. School buses will run as normal.
To ensure a great day for all please remind your child that students are expected to behave in a polite and considerate manner at all times in accordance with the school’s Behaviour Policy. The decisions and instructions of staff must be entirely respected and followed at all times.
Wednesday 3rd July 2024
Students will be leaving school at 9.00am and going to the Vue Cinema in Southport where they will be watching ‘Inside Out 2’. They will then go to ‘Tenpin Southport’ for the afternoon.
The students are not expected to wear school uniform however it is important that your child is dressed appropriately. They are representing the school and as such, please ensure that all clothes are suitable, for example shorts and skirts are a suitable length. Students will also need to wear appropriate shoes for the bowling in the afternoon but are not expected to hire bowling shoes once there.
Short, hot pants style shorts and crop tops that do not cover the chest or midriff are not appropriate and should not be worn. Wearing inappropriate clothing may result in a child not being allowed to go on the trip and a refund will not be given by the cinema or bowling venue
Students can buy food once we are at the cinema and at the bowling venue or bring a packed lunch if they wish. Students on free school meals will be able to order a packed lunch, in advance, and they will be able to collect it from the canteen before we leave. As it is most likely going to be warm, students will need to bring water as it is really crucial that they stay hydrated during the day.
We are due to return to school at approximately 3.00pm so students will be able to make their usual way home at the end of the day. If for any reason we are delayed, we will contact you and post this on our school social media sites.
To ensure a great day out for all please remind your child that as representatives of Burscough Priory Academy, students are expected to behave in a polite and considerate manner at all times in accordance with the school’s Behaviour Policy. The decisions and instructions of staff must be entirely respected and followed at all times.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has a cashless system across the whole park - this is important to know if your child plans to buy anything once they are in the park. They accept bank cards, Apple Pay and ‘Go Henry’ but if your child does not have access to one of these, the Pleasure Beach has their own prepaid card that students can use. On arrival at the park, there will be prepaid cards available to the students that need them, already topped up with £5.00 so that all the students need to do is pay for them with cash. The card can then be topped up once inside the park at several locations; unfortunately, it cannot be topped up online.
Students are not expected to wear school uniform, however it is important that your child is dressed appropriately. They are representing the school and as such, please ensure that all clothes are suitable, for example shorts and skirts are a suitable length. Students will also need to wear appropriate shoes for walking around the park - trainers are likely to be the footwear of choice.
Short, hot pants style shorts and crop tops that do not cover the chest or midriff are not appropriate and should not be worn. Wearing inappropriate clothing may result in a child not being allowed to go on the trip and a refund will not be given by the venue.
Students can buy food once we are in the Pleasure Beach or bring a packed lunch. Students on free school meals will be able to order a packed lunch if they wish, in advance, and will be able to collect them from the canteen before we leave. As it is most likely going to still be warm, students will need to bring water as it is really crucial that they stay hydrated during the day. Also, sun protection will be required as the students will be outside for most of the day.
We will be leaving school at 9.00am to make the short journey to Blackpool. We are due to return to school at approximately 5.30pm and will inform you via SchoolComms and social media of any delays there may be. Please organise with your child how they will be getting home once we return to school to avoid any confusion on the day. Students will need to be collected from school or make their own way home as there will be no school buses. If you are collecting your child from school, please do not park in the turning circle as the coaches will make a drop off here. As ever we want to be mindful of our neighbours in and around Trevor Road or Truscott Road. When collecting your child please do not block driveways or local roads as last year the coaches struggled to drive down Trevor Road due to parked cars.
Once in the park, students will be free to enjoy the park and the rides with their friends. However, they will be provided with a mobile phone number for staff incase of an emergency and will know the location where they will be able to find a member of staff throughout the day if needed. Students will be expected to report to a prearranged meeting point at least once during the day to check in with staff.
To ensure a great day out for all please remind your child that as representatives of Burscough Priory Academy, students are expected to behave in a polite and considerate manner at all times in accordance with the school’s Behaviour Policy. The decisions and instructions of staff must be entirely respected and followed at all times.
