All Years Football News, September 2018
Burscough Priory Academy have got off to a great start to the new season across all year groups with an undefeated record. The year 7’s kicked off the season at home to Tarleton and put on a very strong display winning the game 5-0. The following day the year 8’s and 11’s played Tarleton away, with the year 11’s pulling off probably the best result after not beating Tarleton in 3 years they finished the match with a battling 2-0 win. The most exciting fixture goes to the year 8’s who went in at half time 4-0 down playing against the wind and up the hill at Tarleton. However in the second half a late penalty won and scored by Joe Moorey resulted in a great come back to draw 4-4!
Year 7’s and 9’s went away to Up Holland the following day. Year 7’s managed to hang on to a 4-3 victory with 4 goals from the clinical George Holker for their second win of the campaign. The year 9’s went on to win by a record margin in a league and cup double header. With a hat trick from Ryan Simpson and a brace from Bradley Fanning the year 9’s in blustery conditions romped home 10-0! Let’s wish the lads all the best for the rest of the season and fingers crossed we can keep this excellent start going!
